Testing in software dev is taken completely for granted by many companies on mission-critical updates... Back in the day, our deployments would get tested on configs new & old and with several different variables, we always made sure deployments went smoothly. Now it seems as if most of these companies hire junior devs and skip testing to cut cost and then just put the blame of failure all on them. Burnout levels are high in these settings.

This whole incident would have not happened if just a basic deployment test was conducted. It's so widespread, it would have been impossible to miss detecting the issue.
