I aggressively block ads because they are intrusive and poorly targeted. However I also regularly search for product recommendations and love to try out things my friends tell me about.

It seems that there should be a way to bridge these two worlds. Is there a service where I can actively supply my wants, needs, goals etc in return for a much more highly targeted, lower frequency, and more useful set of ads?
