Some time ago I published four small articles[1] about templeOS. Unfortunately I had less time to deal with this OS. I can only guess that you should have a look at this OS. If you ignore all the religious information you can experiment a lot. Even though Terry was very ill, I have an incredible respect for what he did. There are not many people who have put their own OS on its feet and even implemented very unusual ideas of their own. All this running on ring 0 is pretty exciting.

Oh, cool. I saved this to my templeOS notes.

I've been thinking about writing a technical analysis of TempleOS, in the style of the the Xinu OS textbook [1]. No strong reason for doing so, though it is curious how much more one could learn about him by identifying patterns in the code and OS structure.

It will probably take me a while to recover from my current burnout to look at a holy-influenced C dialect, though. A venture into the library of babylon requires preparation. So, I'm just passively collecting writings that already exist, and the likes, like you just posted. I'm on the #templeos IRC on irc.rizon.net, if you would like to chat sometime. It's pretty inactive, with sprinkles of relevant conversation occasionally.

There are those of us who are unwilling to provide our email address to yet another website. There are sites and sources that I am happy to support, but I limit how far widely I spread my email details.

The term for this is loginwall, not paywall.

So you said:

> Sign up with an email address to read all of the articles on this page.

I said I tend not to sign up for things, and your response is:

> Do you actually do everything that websites tell you on the Internet without thinking for yourself? You can read the article without attaching an e-mail. Gosh!

I was replying to what you said. If you choose to be misleading, don't then accuse me of not thinking.

I've given up RSS. Until the end of the year 2019 I still had a RSS.xml file which I updated by hand, but eventually I got too much work. The main reason was not that RSS is "dead" but the old and cumbersome syntax. I cannot get used to XML. Another reason is that browsers have started not to support RSS anymore. I have never used a reader, but rather read RSS in the browser than some kind of minimalist blog. It is difficult to say if RSS is dead, but I have the "subjective" feeling that less and less people implement RSS in their projects. In my opinion, RSS should be completely revised, not only in concept but also in syntax.

I've seen this many times in the last few weeks. Can people please stop copying and pasting individual sentences of an article out of the actual context of the article and posting them in the comments. Even without a comment of their own. This way the article cannot be viewed objectively and that is also the reason why misinformation is spread. We are not in other "social communities" here. Thank you.

Ok I get it. But in truth your reaction is a coping mechanism for information that makes you uncomfortable. The quote is not misinformation and is actually the entire primary point of the article. Which in my experience those type of comments help me decide to read it in full. Anyway, sorry it annoys you.

Cool kids use Black Arch Linux.

For me as a Linux only user, Proton is an incredible relief. I have all my games on Steam and can turn on Proton with a checkbox. I often use it to play old classics like The Eldar Scrolls Morrowind or Oblivion. For me Proton is a gamechanger, because a few years ago I had a second laptop running Windows and I played my games on it. I haven't had that for three years.

I used the Zkn3[1] software for a while, but unfortunately it is not updated anymore. Also the software quickly reaches its performance limits with many entries. Nevertheless it is worth a look, if you want to see the concept as software.
