Teamspeak is using matrix under the hood

There are several independent clients and servers. None of them support all features, not even synapse/element. But most keep improving steadily.

There are other terminal clients.

Maybe put the git repos on radicle?

Room addresses/aliases (like #matrix:matrix.org) must point to a single room (in fact, they point to a room version, so when rooms are upgraded, addresses must be pointed towards the new room). But for communities, a better way to organize the rooms would be spaces. Spaces can be joined. Spaces can contain rooms and other spaces. Like discord "servers" (guilds), but more flexible.

In my case matrix with bridges allows me to ignore many separate apps: whatsapp,telegram,slack,irc,...

nothing, but people these days expect more from chat

It both still has problems and has been improving for all of its existence. It's been working for my usecases for years
